I am running the London Marathon, which means this is the end of a big training block.

From this experience I wanted to share 4 of the single biggest tips that seriously helped my marathon training. From using races to the remarkable effects of fuelling.

When the opportunity came up to enter the UK's largest and hardest cross country race, for some reason I said yes.

The English National Cross Country was being held at Parliament Hill in London. This 12km XC race would be very hard indeed.

Following JOG ON course member Rachel's 10 mile time of 1:09:37, I believed that without any further training, if we could just employ good pacing, this personal best could be improved. I told Rachel to meet me on a start line one week later in North Devon at the Bideford 10 Mile road race. I was going to try and help Rachel run, even faster.

The Ciderthon is a UK Half Marathon with a difference. 21.1km of cider, running and hills - this was an incredible experience.
